The flower that blooms with the bindweeds are pretty but annoying to the other plants around it and just not needed . Bindweeds grow along the ground and over all objects it meets , twining itself around them and overall its just a major pest in fields , turf and farmland .

This week at the Logan Square Garden…

Turtle Sanctuary Update

The Turtle Sanctuary now has 2 Red-Eared Slider Turtles. Their distinctive name comes from the red streaks on each side of their ears. Its diet is omnivorous, and it grows up to 12 inches. The turtles can live to 30+ years and are one of the most popular pet turtles in the U.S. They like aquatic places, but also need an environment for them to bask in.

Monarda

The Monarda plant is a genus of flowering plants in the mint family. Monarda’s are commonly found in north america, They perfer moist soil but also well drained as well. common names commonly used for the monarda is bee balm, horsemint, oswego tea, and bergamot. The fragrance of the leaves, which is a reminiscent of bergamot orange.

Spring Forward

Today we are brainstorming ideas on: Finding out what ingredients are needed to cook a home made pizza.  We are not outside due to rain. We plan on being back outside Saturday. Saturday we are going to the grocery store to shop for our ingredients. 

Last week we focused on cleaning out the beehives. We put more bees into the hives. We are taking a break from the bees. We're now coming up with ideas on how to cook a pizza. And again we are going to the grocery store Saturday. We will be on the blog Saturday with pictures and more details about our pizza.
